Seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (technical
slant with SQL, UML skills) to join profitable and rapidly
growing enterprise software company that is successfully
delivering a cost and revenue optimization (including reimbursement,
analytics, reporting, audit modules) solution to healthcare
payers (e.g. BCBS, Aetna, Cigna as well as other managed
care providers).
The role of the business systems analyst includes acting
as the point person for eliciting and documenting business
requirements, either from the Product Management team or
from clients and communicating the captured information to
technical teams. The product management team defines features
and high-level business requirements for a release. The analyst
works with the product managers to translate those business
requirements into system-level functional specifications
which may include UML artifacts. The analyst then works with
the software architects, developers, and QA staff to carry
the requirements through the subsequent phases of the development
lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Leads Requirements Elicitation and Documentation efforts
Interfaces with Product Managers, gathering
their high-level feature requirements
Performs thorough data and process analysis
to determine the optimal approach in the context of the software
product for satisfying the feature requirements
Creates functional specification documents
that define at a very detailed level all the system requirements
that are needed to satisfy the high-level business requirements
from the product managers.
Leads Communication with Development Team
Communicates requirements to development team,
is point person for business or system requirement questions
or issues
Helps review Technical Design Documents and
QA Test Plans
Qualifications:
The analyst role requires a combination of analysis and
communication skills along with sound experience in business
analysis and software design techniques. Additionally, the
analyst must be grounded in data and process analysis to
allow for both documenting current system design as well
as developing an original approach for the new design.
Analysts must be technically sound in terms of data analysis
skills as well as a general knowledge of systems, enterprise
scale software design.
- Must have a minimum of 3-4 years experience as a business
systems analyst in developing requirements for enterprise
scale software, preferably in an OOD, Object Oriented Development
environment.
- Experience with the following is required: Data analysis:
Strong SQL skills, Documenting specifications via UML,
Data interchange: knowledge at a high level of different
techniques of system data interchange
- Must possess strong business knowledge and experience,
prefer some experience in healthcare/health insurance business
processes
Must possess effective communication skills, both written
and oral.
The following skills are desirable:
ability to document file layouts in either
flat file or xml file formats.
Detailed systems knowledge of and experience
in healthcare or health insurance processes.
Detailed knowledge of relational data modeling
