E-commerce space and develops and markets enterprise-wide
managed file transfer and EDI solutions that are built to
scale for global 2000 enterprises, ASPs, and VAN service
providers. Their comprehensive solutions enable secure, seamless
trading relationships between customers and their customers,
suppliers, partners and more within the Financial Services,
Supply Chain/Logistics, Government, VANS, ASPs sector .
We are currently seeking experienced Application Engineers
to join the Professional Services Organization. The Application
Engineer plays a key role in the implementation, training
and post-sale support of projects in accordance with approved
client Statements of Work (SOWs) for the Professional Services
Organization.
Frequent domestic and international travel is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieves detailed understanding of the Company product
framework and services methodology and applies within customer
implementation projects.
- Configures and installs company products to meet customer's
business needs.
- Participates in requirements gathering and design sessions.
- Leads & facilitate
sessions with small groups.
- Reviews, designs and code.
- Identifies gaps between the product and the required
functionality.
- Defines, designs, develops, and delivers product extensions,
interfaces, and data conversion modules.
- Creates presentations and present to small groups.
- Creates design documents and use cases following company
methodology.
- Participates in the overall solution testing. Create
and executes test cases for the core application, application
processing logic, extensibility, user interfaces, and integrations.
- Setup application environments (e.g., Dev, Test, QA).
- Maintains
and expands technical and business knowledge through
study and on-site delivery experience. Provides feedback
to Sales, Product Development and Customer Support to
improve quality of software and service solutions, consulting
proposals and customer satisfaction. ·
- Reports own progress towards project goals as required
by project manager/lead. Escalates exceptions quickly to
the Lead Consultant or Consulting Project Manager.
- Performs consulting, support, or works on internal projects
as required to fulfill management objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in an Applications Engineering
role, support pre and post sales teams and their customer
base.
- System administration skills and knowledge of one or
more of the following: UNIX (e.g. Sun Solaris, IBM AIX),
Linux (e.g. Red Hat, SUSE) and Microsoft Windows Servers.
- A solid understanding of networking and distributed computing
environment concepts; understands principles of routing,
and client/server applications.
- Understanding of the administration of SQL database servers
such as MySql, Oracle, and MSSQL.
- Experience with the concept, setup and configuration
of clustering technologies (e.g VCS, SunCluster or MSCS)
is desirable.
- Ability to write scripts in Perl, shell or batch.
- Experience with SAN and NAS solutions is a plus.
- Experience with secure communications protocols ( e.g.
SFTP, FTPS, AS2 ).
- Experience with EDI software and concepts and mapping
is desirable.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science desired.
